9:35pm: at the office again...
so my dad is very close to agreeing to get me a new cell phone if i pay for half. i went onto the nextel website...very cool new color phones with games and tons of ringtones. and not that expensive either. so i may just be getting a new phone..

the new house is incredible, although the central air won't be hooked up til next week (i.e. when the heat wave ends). my mother accurately described the house as 'sweltering'. big word for the mutha. oh and we haven't had real food in awhile..except my neighbor brought home an amazing dinner. so today i ate two bananas, a coolatta for lunch, and an amazing dinner.

i love my new room very much even though i know my description will make it seem hideous. the walls are 'forceful orange' (i almost went with 'social butterfly' but that was so not me) and the rug is blue. i am going to have lots of pictures in frames around, and today i spraypainted chrome a table/shelf thing.

OH

and

ROBIN GAVE ME CRABS!

i like saying it that way for effect. she gave me 2 wonderful hermit crabs for my birthday. they are named robin and dave (her boyfriend who took care of them). i am way too into them...i went on several websites today to look up hermit crab care and now am really petrified. supposedly they're low maintenance pets but the site that i went to said how i need to bathe them once a week in specially treated water and give them special food and keep a constant humidity and all that jazz. it made me really nervous. BUT i went to naugy daugy (pet store) and got water purifier (adds calcium for a hard exoskeleton!), mite repellent (hermit crabs can get MITES in their shells! how terrible!), shell water and food dishes, FMR hermit crab food (the food recommmended by the site), and a few other things. i purified some water for them already and gave them food. see i am obsessed already. right now i am in the market for a 10 gallon fish tank...if you see any let me know.

alright jackie and i are off to stop n shop to get some food in the house now that the refridge and freezer are working...

oh and i go basck to school in 3 days!

yeah leadership camp
1:17pm: wow i haven't seen a computer in like 2 weeks. our computer finally died...it no longer boots up. so i haven't been on lj or aim or first class in about 2 weeks. tis terrible.

anyway. my life:

we moved! we built an amazing house about 5 minutes away from my old one (we're right now on the middlebury/naugatuck line while remaining in naugatucK). moving was pretty good. except my parents didn't even pack up their room. so wehen the movers came jackie and i got a couple boxes and industrial garbage bags and threw all their stuff in them. gotta love the parents who nag for months for you to get everything packed and don't do anything themselves. the movers were very strange...this old guy who kept talking to my mom and this young, sketchy skin head (excuse my prejudiced noun). they were shouting about having diarhea as they moved heavy appliances.

i had such a cliche teen moment the other night. i knew it too. wednesday i went to say goodbye to liz north (because she was leaving for college thurs)...so i got to her house a little before 11 and we chilled for awhile and then it was that dreaded goodbye time. so we did our artificial, awkward little formalities and then as i walked to the truck i began sobbing so i went back to her door and she was waiting there crying. so then i guess we had our real goodbyes and then i drove home and i felt so...teenage cruising the empty roads around 2 a.m. when almost all the traffic lights are just flashing yellow listening to coldplay's clocks and taking the long way home. so cliche.

ah my mom is here (im at my dads office) i gotta run.

10:30am: wow. yesterday was the big dorcas setup day, but since our class is incredibly ahead we didn't really have much to do except practice our sad song and germans...so dorcas is offically today, in a few hours. big crisis this morning; kimmi and i slept over noonans and then when we woke up to call back the place in danbury that was donating a cotton candy machine...but hey, turns out they're closed on sundays so that sucked and we like were about to give up but i didn't wanna give up so we called a bunch more places. most of them were closed, but there was this one place in waterbury and the lady was really sympathetic and although she told me how she couldn't completely donate the machine, she could give us a discount...so details pending, there shall be cotton candy at dorcas! and the rest of it is amazing as well. apparently we rock as a class.

*Be nicer to my family
*Be healthier in general
*Drink more water and run more
*Stop being so hard on self
*Be assertive and stand up for what i believe in (haha aimee this one has a special, specific meaning..)

6:02pm: Family Vacation Summary
who: family= father, mother, jackie, angie, baby
what: family vacation (vacation with the family)
where: canada, more specifically montreal
when: left the 26 back the 30
why: the family has been really into family bonding lately. perhaps it's my impending departure to college and having a baby around
how: we drove for like 6 hours

in general it was pretty good. i love canada because it feels so brisk and clean up there...we went skiing for one day one mount tremblant and it was pretty good-it's a really commercial mountain with long lines and angry french speaking skiers. ya know. then we basically shopped, walked, and ate for the rest of it; i think montreal is actually the biggest city in canada so it was like nyc. except there was so much porn. like so many strip clubs and gentlemens clubs, but they were really really blatantly advertised. im' talking huge lit up billboards of naked women and men like poking them. and they would say like 'hot female dancers, contact legal, cum fondle them' or 'guaranteed blowjobs!'. it wasn't awkward at all with my whole family around. we ate at some amazing restaurants and i got to use my astounding french skills...
but then the plot thickens. our last night, we put some stuff in the car so we wouldn't have to pack it all the next day. we were parked in a parking garage underneath the hotel and we locked up all our doors and stuff. however, the next morning we realized that someone had removed the lock from the door and broken into our car. ironically enough, the only thingthat was gone was my backpack which contained all my 'carry-on' stuff like purse, cd player, cd's, keys, credit card, you know. turns out the theif took out all the valuable stuff like my damn calculator and dumped the rest into dumpsters that were in teh parking garage..so the last morning was spent digging through dumpsters recovering my schoolbooks and such. good times. i was really upset at first, i mean only my stuff was taken, but at least the thief left my knitting : ). i had worked a really long time on that....

This One Time, at New Girl Camp…

A little known fact about Camp Jewell, the site of New Girl Camp, is its abundant wildlife. Few people know about the special geese that tempt you to run after them making obscene goose sounds and spreading your arms as if you were flying that live and honk around the large green slide. The sparkling lake that is excellent for kayaking also has a variety of little fishies, frogs, turtles, and even slithery snakes that are excellent to view while hopping on flat mossy rocks or leaning over the quaint wooden arch bridge. A premier feature of Camp Jewell is the rarely publicized but extremely prestigious petting zoo, home of Eli and Chester, the best llamas in the Northeast. I had a particular affinity for Chester, but he did not appreciate my attempts to embrace him as llamas are apparently frightened of flailing arms and sudden movements. There were helpful little signs around the llama pen; I learned that llamas communicate by humming and that they have powerful hooves that one should stay away from. In the pen with the llamas were several spotted turkey-like birds which one new girl identified as peasants. After I had explained the difference between peasants and pheasants, we deduced that these delightful birds were indeed pheasants, and then we chased them too. Many new girls enjoyed playing with the cute little chicks that nestled in a wooden hutch with the mama chicken who seemingly didn’t mind her chicks’ being handled by complete strangers. I admired the mama chicken's ability to let go so easily, she was quite a hen. Strutting around the hens were the boastful roosters, one of whom was claimed by a new girl who called him her ‘pimp rooster’. Later on, this ‘rooster’ was said to be a chicken; the investigation on this case is still continuing. Behind the hen pen was the evil belching sheep that scared countless new girls and even his dedicated feeder with his inability to ‘baa’ like a proper sheep.
8:24pm: so the donut dc's went alright i guess...if you didn't hear about them basically murphi had the brilliant idea to put a donut into brianna's dresser, ruining some of her clothes, while brooke and katherine watched. this was done because katherine doesn't like brianna. brooke made it sound like murphi and her were gonna lose their positions, but i don't even think they have an official punishment...

just burned the soccer mix, way stressful. it's an awesome mix though, and at the end of the season liz and snyder are gonna make copies and give one to everyone . shhh though no one's supposed to know that..

noonan told me today that she and abby were relocating to sitsit and they want me to come, apparently the gaby/murphi beast has become too much for them. we are thinking of converting that nice, spacious phone closet into our recluse. any objections?

today lauren got an inflatable sumo wrestler outfit for her birthday.
: O . sooo jealous.

we have a home soccer game tomorrow. soccer is great, even though paul is mad at us because we fool around in practice. but we play well. i dunno, i think liz feels a bit bad she's been cracking down and being serious lately. but not all the way, after practice we had a junior/senior dogpile...goodtimes..

11:55am: camping..
camping was shitty/fun. i cant decide. the weather pretty much sucked, we werent even sure if we were gonna go because of the dismal forecasts, but my dad convinced us to go. so we went and we got to our site and it was the absolute worst cuz we waited so long to reserve one..it was tiny and rocky and slanted and right next to the 'comfort station'. so people cut through it night and day. at one point we got out the pellet gun cuz we were pissed. but the rain stopped duringthe night and we made a nice campfire and had s'mores and stuff...the next day we woke up way too early and chilled around and then my dad's friend ron brought up his boat so we went out on a lake and tubed and kneeboarded. well only jackie got to tube, then the tube popped (damn rocks) so angie tried kneeboarding and she was damn good at it. so then i tried and i absolutely sucked, i coulnd't like get up on myknees so i belly boarded the whole time and my dad took control of the boat and dragged me through all the rough surf and driftwood and shizzle like that, so that wasn't great. jackie said it looked like hellish torture. i am quite sore, when i finally let go and got back onto the boat i got this weird charliehorse in my arm. so then it started raining again while we were on the boat andit was soooo cold and it was needly rain so we all got soaked and froze (bathing suits grr). so we ran back to the site and literally threw everyhting into the car cuz we didn't hae time to pack it and then squashed ourselves in all wet and cold and dirty. but all in all, twas kinda fun..

10:56am: yesterday i went to this company picnic for robin's dad's company (C & S Distributers). she called me at like 11 adn was like i am 2 minutes from your house please come with me to this picnic in hartford, so i said sure. so we went, and the picnic was at one of the company's warehouses and there were all these littel tents for like windows and siding and stuff (the company sells building materials), adn there was this huge 18 wheeler that was completely furnished on the inside with all this premier building stuff, really really strange, but we got to go inside the cab and see the trucker's bed and stuff. we 'drove' the truck, fun stuff. and we got to meet all robin's dads' coworkers, especially this guy angelo who talked adn talked about swimming instead of working and how he was like a fish and how when he answers the phone he goes bling bling bling! instead of hello...then he wanted robin to invite him on her boat so he could swim some more. he was way interesting.

on the way home, we passed this big billboard for erotic empire. so of course we had to check it out. you're not allowed in there unless you're 18, but no one gave us a problem. there were so many old men in there, like grandpa-old men and nasty old men. but we looked around for like 1/2 hour at every kind of dildo imaginable and all this bondage stuff. and then we looked at all the, um, outfits. i got this penis lighter thing, i had way too much fun in there. the store was huge, but we kinda had to get back so we didn't get to check out everything. twas quite an experience though.

then i had soccer camp last night (like every other night this week). and it was soo hot out, like 90 degrees and sunny. jack (the coach guy) was pretty easy on us, but we were messing around and stuff, like ashley curtis would not get her shin guards and stuff on. but all in all, camp was fun and i think it cooled off a bit. at the end 3 other coaches came nad they scrimmaged us and they killed us even though it was like 4 vs. 10 of us..they were very good though. i think they're coming back tonight, i dunno. hopefully i'll do a little better than last night..

12:53pm: my vacation..
i got back from chincoteague yesterday evening after a very fun 8 hour car ride. my dad was in a shitty mood the whole time cuz he made a wrong turn and we went west instead of north and added like an hour onto the ride, but it was ok..i tried to read in the car because i am very behind on summer reading, didn't work so well but it was worth the try.

vacation was fun..my family is soooo funny. my dad is incredibly cheap, so he'd argue over prices with waiters and everyone...it is kind of embarassing but we don't know anyone there so it wasn't bad. and my mom is like in love with birds, wherever we'd go she'd take bagels or rolls to feed the seagulls in front of all these DONT FEED THE BIRDS signs...she was known as the crazy bird lady. we got yelled at a lot and kicked outta some places. but it was great watching her..she'd get all into throwing the bread like bending her knees and everything and she'd throw it up sooo high and then it would come down and like hit her on the head.

and then angie, my 12 year old sister, would always say things at the worst possible time. like we were riding bikes on a nature reserve and she came around the bend and yelled out 'i have sand in my crack' and there were so many people that turned around and looked at her and it was soooo funny. and then she would call tentacles testicles ("how many testicles does that jellyfish have, dad?"). jackie was in a bad mood for most of the trip cuz she missed sneaking out and seeing her not exactly but really close to boyfriend...but when she wasn't she was very cool.

one day we rented bikes, the other day we rented mopeds. we got the mopeds from this place called pavlos and the guy there was sooooooooooo hot. he was realy cool too. but of course i was like 'yeah i got my license i can drive a moped' and i flipped it on myself cuz he made me nervous..i felt like the biggestloser. i like broke the mirror and everyhting. so i had to do like 8457 figure-8s around the lot before he let me go...and then on the road i flipped it again skidding on sand, the second time it hurt..my leg and arm were all bloody, buti'm ok just a bit scraped up. and my shoulder hurts. but it's all good.

on this island, they have these wild ponies that are like famous. the locals are obsessed with them, you've never seen so much pony merchandise. and get this, squirrels are endangered there. go figure.

there was this seafood place that sold shirts taht said 'if it smells like fish, eat it'. it took me a little while to get the hidden meaning.

and i got the blingest bling imaginable. i am obsessed. but it is so cool.

10:38am: my past couple days..
the warped tour was awesome, everything i thought/hoped it would be and more..we slept over brooke's house the night before and left at like 9 a.m. but stopped many times, the samowitz's cant drive too long without stopping, i went to my first krispy kreme and sawt he donuts being made! it was totally cool, and we got a free dozen because the lady didn't give us our receipt...then there was massive traffic. the whole world was going to the warped tour. i saw soo many punked out people all in bumper to bumper traffic, lots of people got out and played football or walked around or sat on the grass. it was great though, everyone was making signs and like communicating car to car, soooo many hot guys..so after spending like an hour on the exit ramp (literally, like 2 minutes after we got there the exit ramp was shut down) we finally got to brockton fairgrounds..

we got frisked and our bags checked and stuff, but then we were in. it was crazy, we came in like 2 hours late and we heard simple plan playing so we tried to push our way through 25,000 people. the fairgrounds was really big and there were like 5 big stages and a bunch of little garage band setups. there were tents everywhere, like food tents and every band (there were 32 bands there) had their own tent and then there were like hurley and volcom tents. and there were about 4 bob marley/rosta man tents that sold pot paraphanelia and stuff...like marijuana leaf lea's and stuff like taht. there were sections that you could get high just walking through. so anyways, it was incredibly packed so we weren't able to get too close to simple plan but i totally saw them...i dunno how the pictures of them were though,...then we heard the all american rejects.

we pushed and pushed and got actually a really good spot in the mob and i saw tyson ritter at quite a close range and he is hotter on stage than in any magazien and they were soooo good. we heard swing swing nad most of their other songs, we only missed a bit. i used like half a disposable camera on them. after AAR we walked around tents and looked for free stuff, which we got a ton of.

we also watched mest, suicide machines, andrew w.k., dropkick murphys, the used, and a couple of the little bands, there was a battle of the bands going on. we pushed through people, brooke's got skills like that, and we hit nearly every tent. we each ended up spending a ton of money; i got a 2 cents hoody (only 10 bucks! it is the hottest thing ever i swear i will wear it everyday), a the starting line tshirt, all american rejects tshirt, and a warped tour shirt...we got free stuff like keychains, stickers, patches, beachballs, cd samplers, candy, and buttons. there were a bunch of those 'spin the wheel see what prize you get' games...we hit them all. it was weird, we like didn't eat the entire day becasue it was such an experience. i have never seen so many people packed into such a small space, and there would be people randomly sitting down in the middle of a mob...

we ended up gettng incredibly close to the starting line..they were signing at their tent but we cut the line to getm y shirt and audrey a beanie and we were like whoa ther's the starting line and we took pictuers of them then we got pushed back outta line...i was stupidly wearing sandals (who forgot their sneakers) so my feet were sooo dirty but i actually didn't get stepped on that much.

there was a wided variety of clothing there, some peopel were completely coveredd with rolled up black pants and stripey big socks and converses and longsleeves with armwarmers with trenchcoats...other people were in bikinis or shirtless...and everyhthing in between. we thought it was funny when people would wear shirts of punk bands that wer'ent there...we saw many weezer, good charlotte, and nfg shirts but they weren't at the tour. there were an incredible number of dropkick murphys fans, apparently the murphys are from massachussetts. once again, so many hot guys. so many hot shirtless guys!

to top off the day, we stole this really cool warped tour poster. it's big and black and vinylish, and it says vans warped tour 2003 in red. i am looking for the perfect place to put it i will probably put it in my lounge. the security guard didn't care when we took it. good stuff

we left fairly early, we were tired and sore from being hit around and the rest of the bands weren't so good so we had brookes parents pick us up...mrs samowitz was intent on going to this upscale restaurant called the cheesecake factory in the providence mall, and mr samowitz was obsessed wtih showing us teh providence mall so we went there...but we ended up wating like 2hours to get seated and had dinner at 10:30 p.m...

we got back to brooke's house around 2 a.m. after having a samowitz family concert (brooke and her parents sang along to all the oldies songs it was hilarious), but after showering audrey adn me weren't tired anymore so we ended up staying up til 6, and being awakened at 10. but amazingly i still wasn't tired. and then last night (friday nighT) i slept for 7 hours and i still feel fine. i dunno, adrenaline? so we went to gigli, dont' see that movie, and came to my house for pizza...and later chinese food. this is incredibly long, maybe i'll make a cut..but i had the bestest time ever
